The dome of Złote Tarasy will once again shine blue
As every year on April 2, World Autism Awareness Day, Złote Tarasy will join the "Poland in Blue" campaign. The characteristic glass dome of the Warsaw shopping center, just like other buildings in the center of Warsaw, will be illuminated in blue, the leading theme of the campaign and a symbol of solidarity with people on the autism spectrum.
"Poland in Blue" is the largest initiative in the country, aimed at making as many people as possible aware of what autism is. By speaking out about autism, we increase awareness, as well as tolerance among the society. The action is a part of a global campaign "Autism Speaks", which for a dozen or so years has been starting World Autism Month by lighting up buildings in blue. Organizations helping people affected by this ailment encourage them to join the action on April 2, also by dressing up in blue. Since the beginning, many world-famous buildings, such as the White House, the Empire State Building in New York, Burji Khalifa in Dubai or the Sydney Opera House, have taken part in the action.
For many years Złote Tarasy shopping center has been involved in activities supporting people on the autism spectrum. In addition to participation in the campaign "Poland in Blue", the facility introduced the so-called quiet hours , during which the music in the passages is muted for the comfort of customers affected by this disease and highly sensitive. In addition, on level 2 customers can admire the exhibition "This room wants". This room wants", which was created as a result of the AUT/ART project at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in collaboration with the SYNAPSIS Foundation. Its exhibits were created by people on the autism spectrum and reflect their interests, characters and individual preferences.
